You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

Crop Management

  • Ensure that contract and seasonal labor needs meet the expectations of the breeding, research staff, and operations team at the research station.
  • With minimal supervision ensure that crop protocols and crop management procedures are followed.
  • Assist with the measuring and monitoring of key performance metrics related to both the quality and productivity of the station phytosanitary program

Planning and Strategy

  • Conduct weekly labor meetings with members of the research and breeding teams to ensure success of programs.
  • Forecast weekly labor needs and work with others to achieve desired outcomes in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Schedule labor needs utilizing the R&D tools and/or software’s to track, organize, and support the workers at the research stations.
  • Participate in periodic crop walks with the Station Manager and/or other Operations Managers to review crop progress and develop plans to address any variances or opportunities.
  • Support the Development of cross-training program for seasonal employees that will improve the overall quality of work

Station and Organizational Development and Improvement

  • Actively support the station Illness and Injury Prevention Plan – assist with new employee safety training for the Research Station and uphold/enforce new safety protocols and safety trainings.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and growth for the company.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to share progress and discuss opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with others to provide training and development opportunities for all staff members.
  • Participate in periodic seminars and educational opportunities to ensure that protocols are observed and up to date.
  • Work with the R&D Site Manager to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the R&D Site Manager.

Human Resources Support

  • Actively support the HM Clause safety program and promote a culture of safety as a Local Safety Coordinator
  • In coordination with Human Resources, duties also include station recruitment support, new hire onboarding and orientation, site specific training, and employee relations.
  • Assist in coordinating trainings, keep accurate records, and participate in safety audits throughout the year.
  • Attend annual meetings for updates on Safety & Human Resource policies and best practices


Job requirements

To be considered, you will need: 

BS degree in Agriculture or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2+ years general farming vegetables experience.

2+ years experience with crew supervision preferred

Experience scheduling employees on a weekly basis

Valid Driver’s License required.

Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

HM.CLAUSE offers a strong compensation and benefits package to its employees:

  • Competitive salary
    • This position’s range is $66,560 - $70,000

Our total compensation and pay ranges reflect our market pay structures. As such, individual salaries or hourly rates are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: local geographical market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as job related skills, education, and experience.

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be driving cars, trucks, tractors, forklifts, or other equipment. This position will be exposed to outdoor weather and greenhouse conditions. The employee may need to walk on uneven ground, work near equipment or machinery, and may be exposed to vibration or constant movement. The noise level that is typical of this work environment is loud.
