You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

    • Safety and Environmental:
    Develop and implement site-specific safety and environmental road maps, manage projects, and deploy safety strategies in collaboration with stakeholders. Ensure continuous improvement and compliance with regional and global standards.
    Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
    Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
    Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, including waste management, air and water quality, and hazardous materials handling.
    Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
    Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits, ensuring all required documentation and reports are submitted accurately and on time.
    • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    Analyze safety and environmental data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Ensure relevant reporting and effective communication regarding safety and environmental issues.
    • Risk Management:
    Conduct risk assessments, lead Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and implement action plans to address safety priorities.
    Analyze accident and near-miss causes to prevent future incidents.
    • Compliance and Standards:
    Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines and local environmental regulations.
    May be the main contact for local environmental agencies and oversee compliance with government regulations.
    • Training and Coordination:
    Educate and raise awareness about safety issues across departments, coordinate safety actions, and lead safety meetings.
    Develop, train and implement safety rules in line with company policies.
    Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure employees are prepared for emergency situations.
    • Continuous Improvement:
    Support the development and enforcement of safety and environmental standards, and support the deployment of sustainable practices.
    Lead safety projects, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs and the testing of new personal protective equipment (PPE).
    Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety and environmental considerations into operational procedures and practices.

Job requirements

To be considered, you will need: 

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity of legal, regulatory and OSHA compliance to meet requirements
  • High attention to detail and level of accuracy is essential
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to adapt to multiple priorities and use good judgement in decision making
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in both verbal and written communications
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Agricultural background of benefit
