You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

• Manage one of three intern projects – tomato, pumpkin, or sales
• Conduct and manage scouting of cucurbit isolation fields for weed, insect, and disease
concerns.
• Conduct and manage scouting of sweet corn and snap bean trials located both on station
and at remote locations
• Prepare reports as needed for station production issues.
• Assist station management with irrigation management.
• Assist in planting of research trials.
• Evaluate crops for production concerns
• Assist breeding programs with crop pollinations and evaluations.
• Assist with fresh product harvest for yield trials in snap bean and sweet corn
• Operation of research equipment including but not limited to: bean grader, corn cutter
• Dry seed collection, separation, sorting, counting, treating, and packaging


Job requirements

To be considered, you will need: 

• Able to meet the physical demands of the position working in extreme weather conditions,

and must be able to lift up to 25 lbs

• Ability to use Microsoft office suite of programs

• Base knowledge of crop pests found in Wisconsin

• Valid driver's license required.

Education & work experience required:

• Be enrolled in post high school program of study related to plant sciences or documented prior experience in plant breeding/research
