You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

• A critical aspect of work is to perform controlled pollinations on thousands of varieties of sweet corn. 

• Ensure clean pollinations to avoid contamination of seed 

• Assist breeding program in field maintenance, trial evaluation and harvest. 

• Data collection on the growth and development of the nurseries 

• Rogue out off-type varieties from the rows and scout for detrimental diseases or pests 

• Perform all tasks and behave in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety related company policies and practices 

• Maintain a high standard of precision and diligence in creating high-quality seed 

• Count and prepare seed for planting 

• To assist the breeder or assistant breeder in any additional tasks required


This role is expected to work from Mid-June to Mid-August, with the opportunity to work on to early October

Job requirements

To be considered, you will need:

•High School diploma or equivalent experience
•1+ years field/greenhouse operations experience in a research or production setting.


Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a greenhouse and open field environment where summer temperatures can exceed 105°F.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
