You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

Business & Financial Acumen: Uses financial analysis for strategic decision making. Follows the company finance and budgeting process when making department financial decisions, assesses company financial

position to generate business opportunities and makes decisions considering how company finances and

budgets are affected.

Innovation: Ability to create an environment that encourages creative ideas to emerge amongst the team,

values & promotes innovation, allows trial & error environment, gives resources and supports promising

innovative projects and actively sponsors the projects.

Management Skills: Shows ability to plan, schedule and direct work of self and others, balances task

feedback, and addressing performance problems promptly. Ability to direct international teams, and to

Strategic Planning and Analysis: Ability to manage and coach regional applied workgroup. Ability to plan,

conduct and analyze multiple projects. Have a good capacity for attention to detail and accuracy in data

collection. Implementation of team strategies and objectives, and the motivation to learn and constantly

improve processes and tools. Ability to introduce new ideas and develop proposals for new improvements.

Ability to execute dedicated projects autonomously in collaboration with other Trait & Technology teams.

Technical Skills: Possess excellent scientific and technical competencies in plant pathology, with general competencies in plant

science and genetics. Ability to conduct plant pathology processes and techniques. Demonstrates a high

level of care and thoroughness; checks work to ensure accuracy. Good command of MS Suite and

comfortable in use of software such as LIMS, databases, etc. necessary to document and generate reports.

Ability to troubleshoot and follow-up on projects to assure deliverables. Understanding of continuous

improvement methods and ability to train others. Continues development of technical expertise and

knowledge through experience, application, and training.

Interpersonal Skills - Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing for communication

of results to supervisor, breeding and other R&D teams, as well as providing leadership, training, and

supervision of other staff members. Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships within

all LVS teams, and other internal and external customers.

Teamwork - Must be a team player with a positive attitude and capacity to share resources and space with

other national and international co-workers. Awareness of how multicultural management style impacts

productivity and development. Ability to lead, develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others

inside and outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.

Professionalism – Highly self-motivated individual, possessing strong organizational skills. Results oriented. Deadline focused and motivated. Possess a high level of integrity.

Adaptability: Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Able to prioritize multiple

projects simultaneously. Can travel on an as needed basis.

Dependability: Ability to work according to objectives in an independent and self-directed manner, meets commitments with others and has minimal unplanned absences.


Job requirements

To be considered, you will need:

- PhD required in plant pathology with 10+ years’ experience, or Master of Science (MS) with 15+

years’ experience

- Experience in service platform management required with good experience in continuous

improvement and efficiency management (KPI monitoring)

- International and matrix experience is desirable

- English language skills mandatory


This position is expected to start in January 2025

HM.CLAUSE offers a strong compensation and benefits package to its employees:

  • Competitive salary
    • This position’s range is $100,000 - $120,000

Our total compensation and pay ranges reflect our market pay structures. As such, individual salaries or hourly rates are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: local geographical market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as job related skills, education, and experience.
